Overview:

The “REBIRTH OF UKRAINE” Trade Mission to Finland & Baltic Counties brings together representatives of Finnish, Estonian, Latvian and Ukrainian businesses, municipalities, venture capitalists, impact investors, donors, financial institutions, angel and corporate investors, academia and government organizations to promote the successful reconstruction and economic recovery of Ukraine.

The trade mission will take place May 6-9 in Helsinki, May 10-12 in Tallinn and May 13 in Riga. It is organized by Economy of Trust Ukraine together with SWECO, Business Finland, the Mayors’ Club, the Ukrainian Municipal Economic Development Agency (UMEDA), the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Latvia and Trading House «Ukraine» in Latvia, in partnership with ALLE FOOD UA, NAZOVNI, the Odesa Regional Development Agency and the Kyiv Regional Development Agency.

The main objective is to discuss and implement concrete steps towards the economic future of Ukraine and its people through an effective system of international cooperation and funding.

Please note: For those Ukrainians who cannot travel abroad, we have added the option of “remote representation”. Please register for details.

Mission Goals:

  • Promoting Ukraine as a reliable economic partner

    and a country with competitive products and ambitious investment opportunities

  • Attracting investments into Ukraine’s reconstruction projects

    presenting ready-to-implement investment projects and ideas from municipalities and businesses to secure financing, partnerships, or co-financing

  • Supporting Ukrainian exports

    opening new markets in Finland and Estonia, and identifying buyers, distributors and partners to promote Ukrainian goods and services

  • Identifying strategic partners and suppliers

    establishing direct B2B and B2G contacts to launch joint projects in infrastructure, energy, and technology sectors

  • Integrating Ukrainian municipalities and businesses into European economic value chains

    building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with Finnish and Estonian (Baltic) companies and institutions.

  • Forming partnership alliances between Ukrainian and Finnish/Estonian companies

    to develop joint innovative solutions

We aim not only to provide assistance but to foster mutually beneficial collaboration on specific projects in Ukraine!

Mission Plan Includes:

For companies representing Ukrainian products, a dedicated exhibition area will be arranged to facilitate meetings and tasting sessions with representatives of retail chains and distributors.

❗️The costs of renting the exhibition spaces will be covered by the organizers, so there will be no additional expenses for the participating businesses.

Target Audience of the Mission:

Heads of Ukrainian communities, representatives of Finnish, Estonian and Latvian local authorities, government officials, venture investors, impact investors, financial institutions, angel and corporate investors, donors, representatives and members of associations and chambers of commerce, private sector participants, including heads of planning management, external investment, business development departments, as well as PR/IR/CSR departments.

Number of Ukrainian Participants in the Mission:

  • Up to 20 mayors.
  • Up to 30 businesses.

Selection Criteria for Private Sector Participants in the Mission:

When selecting participants, the potential of the applicant, alignment of goals and projects with the mission’s declared areas, will be assessed. Target participants are Ukrainian businesses, service providers, manufacturers, associations/organizations, and institutions that:

  • Promote Ukrainian products and services in the relevant sector in new markets
  • Are interested in expanding their respective business in the destination country
  • Need investors and have investment projects in the relevant sector
  • Are seeking technologies, partners, suppliers in the relevant sector

Usually the number of applications exceeds the number of places, preference is given:

✅ Companies operating within and registered in the Economic Unions of communities.

✅ Companies that are members of associations and business organizations partnered with the Mayors’ Club, UMEDA or Economy of Trust Ukraine Business Coalition

Selection Criteria for Ukrainian Community Participants:

➡️ Only for members of the Mayors’ Club (heads of communities) (+1 staff member allowed).

➡️ Priority is given to MEFP participant municipalities and representatives of their businesses.

➡️ Participation is limited to a maximum of 2 cities of regional significance.

Terms of participation and Registration

  • Registration is unlimited and continues until the full delegation is formed
  • For business representatives: An organizational fee applies.**
❗️EXPENSES❗️

All mayors and participants selected for the mission are responsible for covering their own personal expenses, including travel, accommodation, personal interpreter, meals, transportation, communication, etc. These costs are not included in the organizational fee!
