Poltava Region Opens New Opportunities for Development: Partnership with the Mayors’ Club Ukraine and Signing of a Memorandum

Poltava recently hosted an important meeting that opens new prospects for the development of local communities and attracting investment to the region. Oleksandr Bilenkyi, Chairman of the Poltava Regional Council, met with Henry Shterenberg, Chairman of the Investment Council of the Mayors’ Club, President of WTC Kyiv and Founder of Economy of Trust Ukraine.

The main topic of the meeting was cooperation in a number of strategically important areas, including community development, support for regional projects, and the creation of industrial parks and economic unions. In addition, the participants discussed the introduction of the latest digital platforms that will help businesses and communities in Poltava region work even more efficiently.

Memorandum of Partnership Signed

The meeting resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Partnership between Poltava Regional Council and the  Mayors’ Club Ukraine. Oleksandr Bilenkyi, commenting on the importance of this step, said: «These are new opportunities for our communities, new tools and ideas that need to be implemented. Poltava region is confidently moving towards attracting new investments!» With such a partner as the Mayors’ Club, the region’s development becomes even more realistic and effective.

Seminar on Land Reform

On April 17, 2025, a seminar on «Exercising State Control over the Use and Protection of Land in Territorial Communities» was organized by the Poltava Regional Association of Local Self-Government Bodies. Henry Shterenberg joined the event for the first time and made a presentation on economic development and attracting international investment.

Key results of the meeting:

• Memorandums of Cooperation were signed with UMEDA Development Agency and the NGO «Mayors’ Club» for the development of Poltava region communities.
• The main areas of cooperation for the implementation of joint projects and initiatives were identified.
• The Second International Trade Mission «REBIRTH OF UKRAINE» to be held in June 2025 was discussed, with a focus on the development of industrial parks, sustainable development, and investment attraction. Read more

By joining forces with the Covenant of Mayors, Poltava Regional Council not only opens new horizons for local communities, but also creates conditions for sustainable development in the region.
